Join AV Educate for an immersive, hands-on training experience designed for audio visual technicians, live event professionals, and corporate AV technicians who want to sharpen their console skills and become more confident behind the mix.

This is not a “watch someone click through a menu” class. We’re getting hands-on.

Led by AV Educate Instructor Ercel Abbott, this training goes beyond the basics of the Yamaha DM3-D. Through practical exercises, real-world scenarios, and guided drills, you’ll learn how to confidently navigate the console and build efficient workflows for everything from corporate breakout rooms to live events.

The DM3-D may be compact, but it packs a serious punch. We’ll explore the tools and workflows that help you get the most out of this small-but-mighty console and the Yamaha ecosystem.

What you leave with

Participants receive the AVE Yamaha Console Training Certification, issued by AV Educate. This credential shows hands-on training in technical documentation for sound environments and verifies your ability to manage complex production.

CORE FOUNDATIONS COVERED

Throughout the training, we’ll work through:

1. Scenes — Build, save, recall, and manage your show files.

2. Libraries — Create and use channel and processing libraries efficiently.

3. Parametric & Graphic EQs — Shape your sound with confidence.

4. Compressors — Learn practical dynamics control and when to use it.

5. Gates & Expanders — Clean up and control your inputs.

6. Routing — Understand signal flow and build efficient patches.

7. Custom Layering — Create a surface layout that works for you.

8. Build Your Own Event Scene — Create a customized scene designed for fast, reliable loading during event setups.
