Overview

Most AV technicians know how to run a PowerPoint. Far fewer know how to build one, configure it, and manage it the way a live production demands. This course is not about design. It is about making PowerPoint behave on a show: multi-screen output configuration, master deck architecture, font and media management, operator-friendly file structure, and the field workflows that prevent the last-minute surprises that derail a general session. Participants also learn how to integrate PowerPoint with Stream Deck workflows using Companion and OSCPoint for seamless show control. This is the class that closes the gap between knowing PowerPoint and knowing how to run PowerPoint on a show.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

• Build master deck structures that are stable, organized, and easy to hand off to an operator

• Manage fonts, embedded media, and file dependencies to prevent playback failures

• Create operator-friendly files that can be updated quickly under show-day time pressure

A Day in Class

Each participant works on a laptop through a series of hands-on exercises that move from foundational configuration to full show-day workflow. The class covers both the operator side and the content creation side, giving every participant a complete picture of how PowerPoint functions in a live production chain. Instructors review participant files and workflows directly, with feedback focused on stability, organization, and real-world usability under show conditions.

What You Leave With

Participants receive an AVE Show Graphics: PowerPoint certificate of completion along with a production-ready PowerPoint template, a pre-show file audit checklist, and a reference guide for Stream Deck integration. These are tools designed to be used on the next show, not stored in a folder.

Reducing Risk

PowerPoint problems are among the most common and most preventable failures in corporate AV. Fonts that do not travel, media that does not embed, decks built on a client's laptop that behave differently on show equipment, files so disorganized an operator cannot find a slide under pressure. A trained show graphics operator catches these problems before they reach the screen and builds files that hold together no matter what the show throws at them.
