Millumin Operator Certification

Manufacturer Certification | 2 Days | In-Person

Overview

Millumin is a professional media server platform for Mac, trusted by AV technicians, content operators, and visual designers across corporate events, theater, and live performance. Known for its clean interface and reliable playback architecture, Millumin has become a go-to tool in environments where content stability and show-day organization are non-negotiable. This certification program covers the full operator workflow, from initial setup and media preparation to cue building, synchronization, and show control. It prepares participants to run Millumin confidently across a range of professional production environments.

This Class Is Right For You If...

  • You're a content operator or playback tech looking to formalize your Millumin skills with a manufacturer-backed credential.

  • You've used Millumin on the job but want structured training that fills the gaps, leaves self-study and trial-and-error behind.

  • You're a corporate AV technician moving into media server operation and want a strong, recognized starting point.

  • Your team regularly works on content-heavy shows and needs a trained operator who can reliably manage playback under pressure.

Career Level

Mid-Level to Operator: Designed for technicians transitioning into or currently working in media server and playback roles. No prior Millumin experience is required; basic AV signal knowledge is recommended.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Set up and configure Millumin for professional production environments.

  • Manage surfaces, layers, and display outputs.

  • Prepare media files to meet format and performance requirements.

  • Build organized, show-ready cue structures and manage playback timelines.

  • Route and synchronize audio within Millumin's playback environment

  • Integrate Millumin with broader show control systems.

  • Diagnose and resolve common playback issues during live production.

A Day in Class

Each student works on a dedicated Mac laptop with Millumin installed, building real show files from scratch through a series of structured exercises. Class time moves between instructor-led demonstrations and hands-on project work, with direct instructor feedback on cue organization, media management, and workflow decisions. The goal is to leave with a complete, working show file, not just notes from a lecture.

Certification & Recognition

Upon successful completion, participants receive the Millumin Operator Certification. This manufacturer-backed credential is recognized by media server and playback operators as proof of professional-grade competency on the platform.

Reducing Risk

Playback failures on content-driven shows: dropped files, format errors, missed cues, are among the most visible and costly mistakes in live corporate AV. A trained Millumin operator reduces that risk through proper media preparation, organized show file structure, and the troubleshooting knowledge to resolve issues without stopping the show.

Instructors

Christopher Brown and Omar Colom are both experienced media server operators and AVE lead instructors with deep knowledge of the Millumin platform and active production credits.
