Barco Training at AV Educate

Barco E2 (non-cert)

AVE Standard Certification | 2 Days | In-Person

Overview

The Barco Event Master E2 is a professional presentation switcher and multi-screen processor found on some of the most technically demanding corporate and live event productions. This two-day class is built around the E2 workflow from a practical operator standpoint: how the system thinks, how shows are built inside it, and how to navigate the platform confidently when the stakes are high. Delivered through simulator-based training and guided instruction, this class focuses on workflow fluency and decision-making.

This Class Is Right For You If...

  • You've encountered the Barco E2 on shows and want to understand the system beyond what you picked up on the fly.

  • You're a video tech or operator looking to add a high-demand platform to your skill set.

  • Your organization works on large-scale corporate productions, and screen switchers would help you manage your screen destinations.

  • You want to build confidence on the E2 without waiting for a live show to be your classroom.

Career Level

Mid-Level to Operator: Designed for technicians with a foundational understanding of video signal flow and presentation switching. Prior experience with multi-screen production is helpful but not required.

What You'll Learn

Upon completion, participants will be able to:

  • Navigate the Barco E2 interface and understand its system architecture.

  • Build and manage show files for multi-screen corporate production environments.

  • Configure sources, destinations, and layers for real-world show scenarios

  • Execute transitions and operate the system cleanly under live pressure.

  • Apply a field-tested troubleshooting approach to common E2 issues.

  • Understand the operator mindset required to run a Barco system on high-profile shows.

A Day in Class

Training is conducted through simulator-based exercises and instructor-led walkthroughs, covering real show scenarios from setup through execution. Because the focus is on workflow and decision-making rather than hardware access, class time is dense with practical context: how operators actually use the system on site, what goes wrong, and how to recover. Every exercise includes instructor review and feedback on the choices you make, not just whether the output looks right.

What You Leave With

Participants leave with documented show-file workflows, a working understanding of the E2 operator process, and the field knowledge to step onto a Barco show with confidence. This is an AVE-issued credential that reflects hands-on training and assessed competency delivered through AV Educate's standard program.

Reducing Risk

The E2 is a complex system with significant capability and an equally significant learning curve. Operators who only know the surface of the platform are a liability on shows where precision matters. This class closes that gap by building operator-level understanding of how the system works and how to make sound decisions under pressure.

Instructor

Omar Colom, AVE lead instructor and experienced Barco operator and certified trainer with production credits across corporate and large-scale live event environments.
