Overview

This course picks up where Introduction to Show Calling ends. Advanced Show Calling is built for participants who already understand the fundamentals and are ready to operate at a higher level: more complex productions, tighter timelines, larger crews, and less margin for error. The focus shifts from basic cue execution to production leadership, multi-department coordination, and the kind of real-time decision-making that defines an experienced show caller. Participants work through advanced scenarios, refine their communication under pressure, and develop the professional instincts that come from deep role knowledge.

• You've completed Introduction to Show Calling or have field experience calling shows, and are ready to level up.

• You regularly call corporate general sessions, multi-day conferences, or productions with large technical crews.

• You're a production manager or event director who wants to tighten your on-site execution and crew leadership.

• You want to work on more complex, higher-profile productions and need the skills to back it up.

Career Level

Operator to Show Management: Designed for participants with foundational show calling experience, either through AVE's Introduction to Show Calling course or documented field work. This is not a beginner course.

A Day in Class

Class is built around advanced simulation scenarios drawn from real corporate and live event productions: general sessions with executive speakers, multi-room conferences, and productions where something goes off-script. Participants call full show segments, debrief with the instructor, and run them again. Feedback is direct and specific, focused on communication quality, decision speed, and professional presence. This is a high-repetition class. The goal is to make the hard calls feel routine.

What You Leave With

Participants receive the AVE Advanced Show Calling Certification from AV Educate. This credential, paired with the Introduction to Show Calling certification, documents a complete education in show calling through AVE's program. Participants also leave with a personal reference toolkit including script templates and a pre-show checklist for use on future productions.

Reducing Risk

Advanced productions have more moving parts, larger crews, and less tolerance for communication errors. A show caller who has only worked at a foundational level will feel the gap the moment complexity increases. This course builds the instincts and leadership skills needed to hold a large production together when the unexpected happens, which it always does.
