This class is designed for techs who want to level up their projection mapping game by learning the full backend process from calculating surface areas to understanding how media interacts with 3D surfaces. We’ll break down the technical foundation behind projection mapping and give you guided, hands-on practice mapping content onto irregular shapes, surfaces, and objects using Resolume.

This is not a basic projector class. And it’s not a resolume beginner session.

We’ll cover just enough about projectors and resolume to keep the workflow moving, but our main focus is on mapping, slicing, and the critical thinking behind a solid projection mapping setup. You’ll walk away with the skills and confidence to plan, prep, and execute mapping projects that work under show pressure.

From math to media, we’re giving you the missing manual.

What You’ll Learn:

1. The Math Behind Projection Mapping:
   Learn how to calculate lens throw, pixel resolution, projector angles, and aspect ratios to build projection systems that work the first time.

2. End-to-End Signal Flow for Mapping Rigs:
   Understand the full technical chain—from media servers to outputs, converters, and feeds—to ensure your mapped visuals look clean and stay synced.

3. Content Prep for Real-World Surfaces:
   Break down how to prepare content for mapping onto objects like walls, sculptures, signage, or set pieces—what works, what doesn’t, and why.

4. Mapping Irregular Objects in Resolume:
   Get hands-on experience using Resolume to projection map onto non-standard surfaces. Practice aligning, warping, and blending live.
